Welcome to the home page of the Irish College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ICTCM).

The ICTCM is the first College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Ireland.
Since 1983 we have pioneered professional TCM training:

  • First, in Acupuncture (Licentiate in Traditional Chinese Medicine).
  • Then, in Chinese Herbal Medicine.
  • Now, in Medical Qigong (The Licentiate in Medical Qigong) – New for 2006.

We cater to two distinct groups – Undergraduates and Post-graduates.

Under-graduate level training:
This site is intended to answer the main questions that people ask when they are thinking of taking up a professional career in Acupuncture and TCM or Medical Qigong (MQG).

It offers information about:

  • The College
  • The Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine Profession
  • The Licentiate in Traditional Chinese Medicine (the main undergraduate level programme run by the College)
  • The Licentiate in Medical Qigong (Lic.MQG) (a new undergraduate level programme launching in 2006)

The excellent career possibilities for successful graduates of the ICTCM are explored

Post-graduate level training and Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
We also provide a wide range of Post-graduate programmes, designed for practising Acupuncturists and TCM professionals, living in Ireland and other parts of Europe.

These include:

  • Acupuncture and TCM
  • Medical Qigong
  • Chinese Herbal Medicine and other TCM modalities.

NEWS – in December 2005 The ICTCM signed an historic agreement with Guangzhou University of TCM (GZUTCM) in China to run a joint Masters Degree Programme, (mainly in Ireland) leading to a Master of Medicine Degree conferred by GZUTCM.

NEWS: The next short intensive certificate course in Prepared Chinese Herbal Medicines begins in August this year. It is a six day course run over 3 weekends. The first weekend is being held on 5th and 6th August. The second on 2nd and 3rd September (2006). The final weekend will take place in February 2007.
