CHINESE HERBAL MEDICINE AND TUINA
Currently all the Chinese Herbal Medicine and Tuina programmes run by the college are at post-graduate/CPD level and are thus only suitable for fully qualified Practitioners of Acupuncture or TCM.
Chinese Herbal Medicine
Chinese Herbal Medicine employs the same diagnostic methods as other types of TCM and, rather than using pre-sterilised disposable Acupuncture needles to provide the treatment, it uses Traditional Chinese Medical ingredients such as roots, leaves and flowers which are combined according to classical Chinese Prescriptions to treat the patient/client’s condition.
There are three study options:
- Post-graduate Professional Certificate in Chinese Herbal Medicine – Cert.CHM (Modular, 1 year Programme)
- Post-graduate Professional Diploma in Chinese Herbal Medicine - Dip.CHM (Modular, 2 year Programme)
- Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in Chinese Herbal Medicine.
NOTE: the next course starts August 2006.

Tuina is part of our CPD programme
Tuina is a Chinese Medical Massage specialism which would commonly take 3-5 years to complete in China.
The college currently offers no full professional training in Tuina but it has offered, and will continue to offer, short introductory weekend workshops to enable qualified TCM practitioners to become familiar with the basics of Tuina.
Longer courses in China can be organised if required. Click here for more information.
